US News has numerically ranked universities of Canada based on their positions in the overall Best Global Universities rankings.
Schools were evaluated based on their research performance and their ratings by members of the academic community around the world and within North America.
Below is the list of the top Global Universities:

University of Toronto

  • Ranked #17 in Best Global Universities
  • Average International Tuition fees: CA$ 21,560 to CA$64,810.
  • Scholarship: The University of Toronto is a publicly-funded institution and because of that cannot offer financial aid to international students.

  • Location: Mississauga (UTM), St. George campus, Scarborough (UTSC), Ontario, Toronto [good for job opportunities]
  • Yearly Housing & Meal Expenses: 13,000 CA$
  • Application fee: There is a CDN $125 application fee.

University of British Columbia

  • Ranked #31 in Best Global Universities
  • Average International Tuition fees: 35,000-38,946.2 CAD
  • Scholarship: Trek Excellence Scholarships are offered every year to students in the top 5% of their undergraduate year, faculty, and school. Rankings are based on students’ top 24 percentage-graded credits, as per Senate Award regulations. International students can receive an award of $4,000.

  • Location: Vancouver, Okanagan [good for job opportunities]
  • Yearly Housing & Meal Expenses: $10,700- $13,850 for two terms
  • Application fee: There is a CDN $168 application fee.

McGill University

  • Ranked #51 in Best Global Universities
  • Average International Tuition fees: $23, 461 — $56,621
  • Scholarship: In-Course Financial Aid Program that provides modest amounts of loans and/or bursaries to currently enrolled graduate students in need of supplemental financial assistance.
    The entrance Bursary Program is only available to first-time, first-degree (Bachelor) students. You are encouraged to carefully read your graduate admission offer to understand the value and nature (one-time vs. recurring, etc.) of any financial commitments included.
  • Location: Montreal [good for job opportunities]
  • Yearly Housing & Meal Expenses: $11,00- $13,850
  • Application fee: There is a $120.99 application fee.

McMaster University

  • Ranked #133 in Best Global Universities
  • Average International Tuition fees: $53,187.90
    Note: McMaster’s tuition fees for international students are the lowest among top-ranked institutions in the Toronto area.
  • Scholarship: The international scholarships offered at the university can be categorized majorly into:
    Entrance Scholarships: Awarded to incoming students at the university based on their academic admission average.
    In-course Awards: Awarded to currently enrolled students at McMaster University.
  • Location: Hamilton, Ontario, Canada[average for job opportunities]
  • Yearly Housing & Meal Expenses: $8,000- $10,000
  • Application fee: There is a $110 application fee.

University of Alberta

  • Ranked #138 in Best Global Universities
  • Average International Tuition fees: $20,187.90- 23,000
  • Scholarship: As an incoming undergraduate or postgraduate student, applicants can avail the University of Alberta Scholarships based on academic merit and financial requirements. The UAlberta scholarships are available in the form of General UG Entrance Scholarships.
  • Location: Edmonton, Alberta[below average for job opportunities]
  • Yearly Housing & Meal Expenses: $5,000- $9,000
  • Application fee: There is a $125 application fee.
